While sitting in a comfortable chair on a stage in Washington DC, congressman Carlos Curbelo admitted his carbon tax will directly kill jobs. But don’t worry: He’ll “retrain” you.

This week Curbelo introduced a bill to impose a massive federal carbon tax on the American people. The bill is an $800 billion tax increase. It would increase household energy bills by $688 in one year.

According to the very report released along with the bill, Curbelo’s carbon tax will hit low-income households especially hard. The bill would slow the economy, hurt jobs, and raise the price of many everyday items.

Curbelo admitted his carbon tax could kill your job, but don’t worry! Are you ready to be “retrained“?

“Some people could lose their jobs. We have a fund in place to help those individuals get retrained and find other work.”

Here’s a better idea congressman: how about not raising taxes and killing jobs in the first place.
