Tell Gov. Mary Fallin and Her Allies: No New Taxes

With just one week left in the session, Oklahoma state lawmakers and Gov. Fallin are calling for hundreds of millions of dollars in new taxes to address a $1.3 billion budget shortfall. The state’s precarious financial situation and expansion of Obamacare in Oklahoma will kick 175,000 women and children off of Medicaid, greatly expanding state taxpayer liabilities long-term. Raising taxes is what politicians do instead of governing and after being hit with over 20 federal tax increases in the last six years, the last thing you need is for the governor and lawmakers to dump on even more taxes at the state level.
