Illinois lawmakers are poised to enact a new tax increase integral to Governor Pat Quinn's plan to enact certain provisions of ObamaCare almost two years early in Illinois.

Democrats in the Illinois House of Representatives and Senate are turning up the pressure on Republican lawmakers to support a $1 per pack cigarette tax hike to fund Gov. Quinn's ObamaCare plan.   If successful, the early implementation of ObamaCare in Illinois could increase the state's Medicaid liability by $10 billion over the next decade, leading to a massive new tax increase on Illinois taxpayers.

Americans for Tax Reform urges Illinois residents to contact their lawmakers below and tell them to oppose any efforts to increase their taxes and stop Gov. Quinn from implementing parts of ObamaCare two years early in Illinois.
