Last year’s Dodd-Frank financial takeover act contained thousands of pages of regulations that are projected to raise costs on American consumers.  But today, we have a chance to stop one regulation before it makes your debit card significantly more expensive.

Liberal Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) inserted price controls on debit card transaction fees into the Dodd-Frank bill that will shift the cost of carrying a debit card onto consumers like you. The regulation likely spells the end of free checking accounts or debit card rewards.

But Senators Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) are coming to the rescue and proposing a measure known as the “Tester-Corker Amendment" that would stop these price controls before they take effect. The last thing we need in a fragile economy is more burdensome regulations that make merely using a debit card more expensive.

Act now!  Write your Senator using the form below and urge them to stop these regulations.
