Candidate for Virginia Senate Promises to Defend Taxpayers
WASHINGTON – Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) applauds Steven Sisson for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. Mr. Sission is running for the 24th Senate district in Virginia.
By signing the Pledge, Mr. Sisson promises to "oppose and vote against any and all efforts to increase taxes." He joins over 1200 incumbent state legislators, 8 Governors, 217 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 42 U.S. Senators, and President George W. Bush, all of whom have signed the Pledge.
Mr. Sisson demonstrated his dedication to economic prosperity and fiscal responsibility by signing the Pledge on July 21, 2003. His opponent, encumbent Sen. Emmet Hangar, has not taken the Pledge.
"Mr. Sisson\\\’s dedication to limited government and personal liberty is certainly commendable," said Grover Norquist, President of ATR. "By signing the Pledge, he has taken a major step towards defining his priorities of limited government and reduced taxation for Virginia taxpayers.
"I encourage every candidate in Virginia to sign the Pledge," Norquist continued.
A copy of the Pledge is available at http://www.atr.org or by calling (202) 785-0266 and asking for Paul Prososki.
