The Ethan Allen Institute, a Vermont-based free market think tank, is reporting Vermonters received the following message from the Vermont Traditions Coalitions:

“Due to the federal government shut down, the Conte Refuge North of Route 105 is closed…. Also, federal patrol officers will be patrolling to enforce the shutdown’s ban on hunting and fishing.”

The administration is doing everything they can to create political capital out of citizen pain, even if it means spending more money to keep Vermonters from their food sources and traditions.

Does the Administration care more about Vermont families or upcoming elections? The evidence suggests political capital trumps people during the government shutdown.
