Sheriff Richard Mack Signs the Taxpayer Protection Pledge

Sheriff Richard Mack (R-AZ), candidate for Arizona’s 5th congressional district, recently signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to the American people. The Pledge is a written commitment to the citizens of Arizona and to the American people to oppose all tax increases. Sheriff Mack is running in a special election to replace Incumbent Trent Franks.

In 1988, Richard Mack moved back home to Arizona after serving as a street cop in Provo, Utah for numerous years. It was during this time he ran and was elected Sheriff of Graham County. He served as Sheriff for eight years.

“The American people are tired of the tax-and-spend policies coming from Washington and they are looking for solutions that create jobs, cut government spending, and signing the Pledge is the first step in that process,” said Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform.

The Taxpayer Protection Pledge has been offered to every candidate for federal office since 1986. In the 115th Congress, 208 Congressmen and 45 Senators have signed the Pledge.
