Ronald Reagan Legacy Project Commends Governor Lee for Proclaiming Ronald Reagan Day in Tennessee

The Ronald Reagan Legacy Project, a project of Americans for Tax Reform, commends Governor Bill Lee for proclaiming Ronald Reagan Day in Tennessee. He joins a large bipartisan group of governors across the nation in paying respect for the 40^th president’s 112^th birthday.

Every year, the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project aims to have every governor proclaim February 6 as Ronald Reagan Day in honor of President Reagan’s birthday.

President Reagan worked to restore the American spirit and instill a sense of pride in the nation during a time of great challenge. He worked tirelessly to promote these ideals both at home and abroad. His unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life endeared him to millions of Americans.

This year, in honor of the president’s 112^th birthday, the project has once again reached out to governors to proclaim Ronald Reagan Day and honor the president’s legacy.

“Ronald Reagan created the modern Republican party of limited government, low taxes and a strong national defense.  He used that party to change the nation.  And then he changed the world,” said Grover Norquist, chairman of the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project.

While Ronald Reagan Day is celebrated one day a year, several dedications to the 40^th president honor his legacy year-round. There are 168 domestic dedications to the former president, and 18 dedications internationally.

Within Tennessee, there are at least two dedications to Ronald Reagan, including the Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway and the North Rutherford YMCA Reagan Facility in Smyrna.
