At Americans for Tax Reform’s annual Tax Day Eve Press Conference last Thursday, Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) highlighted the importance of pro-growth tax reform in reducing the deficit:
“If you have anyone from the left who wants to come to you and say, “The tax reform is driving the deficit over the next decade,” it just isn’t true.
“If you take a look at the number, just the growth, and this is really uncomfortable, from Social Security and Medicare, during that 10 years is 11 and a half trillion dollars. It’s not what we did in tax reform.
“The only solution is we’re going to have to continue to adopt these types of tax policies that I believe maximize economic expansion.”
