Americans for Tax Reform congratulates GA-11 candidates Tricia Pridemore, Bob Barr, Barry Loudermilk, and Ed Lindsey for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and taking any discussion of tax hikes off the table.

Candidates running for office like to say they won’t raise taxes, but often turn their backs on the taxpayer once elected. The Pledge requires these candidates to put their rhetoric in writing and provide an additional layer of accountability to the taxpayer.

Pridemore, Barr, Loudermilk, and Lindsey are competing to replace Rep. Phil Gingrey, who is running for the open U.S. Senate seat. Cook Political Report rates GA-11 a “Solid R” district with a PVI of R+19. It’s safe to say whoever wins the primary will ultimately become the next Representative of Georgia’s eleventh congressional district.

Tricia Pridemore and Ed Lindsey have both reached “On the Radar” status in the NRCC’s Young Guns program.  Reaching the level of On the Radar means, “candidates have completed a stringent program of metrics and are on the path to developing a mature and competitive campaign operation.”
