In Texas’ 4th Congressional District, Incumbent Republican Rep. Ralph Hall is facing a trio of primary challengers. According to Politics1, the list of declared candidates includes realtor Tony Arterburn Jr., businessman Lou Gigliotti, and Grayson County GOP Precinct Chairman Brent Lawson. Each of the four candidates has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

The Cook Political Report rates Texas’ 4th Congressional District as one of the most conservative in the state, with a Partisan Voter Index of “R+25.” Without any declared candidates from other parties, the race falls in the “Solid Republican” column. Mitt Romney carried the district with 74 percent of the vote in November.

The primary date is scheduled for March 4. When it comes time to vote, Lone Star State taxpayers will know which candidates are committed to opposing higher taxes in Washington.
