Connecticut now has three signers in the upcoming race for the Senate seat in 2010. Former Republican Congressman Rob Simmons recently signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge

Mr. Simmons is competing in the GOP Primary for the opportunity to take on Connecticut’s Senior Senator, Chris Dodd. Dodd has a less than spectacular record when it comes to looking out for the taxpayer; and ATR’s lifetime rating for Dodd is a poor 5.7% over 14 years in the Senate.

Mr. Simmons was a pledge signer as a congressman while serving Connecticut’s 2nd district; and now he has made the same pledge to do what is in the best interest of the taxpayers. Though Senator Dodd is not yet a signer, we here at ATR strongly encourage him, all candidates in Connecticut, and all candidates for Federal Office to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.
