Decade-long veteran Damon Ansell leaves for private
company opportunity in boyhood home of Africa
WASHINGTON—Today Americans for Tax Reform announced that Damon Ansell, has departed the organization for an exciting opportunity in African tax and trade policy, and has promoted former Communications Director Christopher Butler to take over that position.
Damon Ansell is leaving Americans for Tax Reform to pursue a long-held desire to return to his boyhood home of Africa, where he will continue his advocacy work in the private sector. Ansell has accepted a position in Kenya with Diageo.
“We are overjoyed that Damon has found such a wonderful opportunity to return to Africa, though we are disappointed to lose someone on whom taxpayers and the entire Washington, D.C., center-right community have come to depend,” said Norquist.
Norquist has promoted ATR’s former Communications Director to fill the vacated Chief of Staff slot. Christopher Butler has been with Americans for Tax Reform for just under three years.
“Christopher has our complete confidence. Though he has big shoes to fill, taxpayers will find themselves a strong and proven advocate as he steps into his new role,” Norquist added.
