Current Congresswoman and former Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform (ATR).  The Pledge is a commitment to constituents to “oppose and veto any and all efforts to increase taxes.”

To date, twenty nine members of the Oklahoma legislature have signed the Pledge.  Additionally, nine governors and nearly 1,100 state legislators across the country have signed the Pledge.

“Oklahoma taxpayers need leaders committed to fiscal responsibility and pro-growth economic policies,” said Grover Norquist, president of ATR.  “By signing the Pledge, Mary Fallin demonstrates that she understands the problems of hard-working taxpayers nationwide, but especially the taxpayers of Oklahoma.”

ATR encourages candidates who have not signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to make this commitment to taxpayers.  To see a list of candidates who have signed the Pledge, visit http://www.atr.org/files/files/2010%20Challengers%20List(17).pdf

“I applaud Mary for her leadership and dedication to the ideals of limited government, and for putting taxpayers’ wallets ahead of government coffers,” added Norquist.  “On July 27 as voters go to the polls, they will be paying attention to those who have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.”
