Under TABOR, Taxpayers See Growth in Wallets, Not Government
On November 7, voters in Maine will have the chance to approve a measure to limit government spending in their state. The Taxpayer Bill of Rights would limit increases in state and local government spending to the rate of inflation plus population growth and to require voter approval for all tax and fee increases.
Maine is notorious for having one of the worst tax burdens in the country.
In fact, according to the Maine Heritage Policy Center, Maine’s per capita tax burden has grown by more than 25% in the past 6 years—50% faster than the rate of inflation.
The Taxpayer Bill of Rights will make it more difficult to raise taxes, putting an end to the constant raid on Maine taxpayers’ wallets.
Vote YES on November 7th!
