Kris Wampler Signs the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to the American People

Kris Wampler (R-SC), candidate for Congress in South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District, has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to the American people. The Pledge is a written commitment to the citizens of South Carolina and to the American people to oppose all tax increases. Wampler is running in a special election to replace Mick Mulvaney who was tapped to lead the United States Office of Management and Budget.

Wampler is a life-long advocate for conservative and free-market causes. During college at University of North Carolina, Wampler started a free market organization that hosted guests and advocated for more university funding to conservative groups. After graduating from Wake Forest Law School in 2009, Wampler started his own law practice in Charlotte, which he still runs today.

“The American people are tired of the tax-and-spend policies coming from Washington and they are looking for solutions that create jobs, cut government spending, and get the economy going again. Signing the Pledge is the first step in that process,” said Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform.

The Taxpayer Protection Pledge has been offered to every candidate for federal office since 1986. In the 115th Congress, 208 Congressmen and 45 Senators have signed the Pledge.

“We are ecstatic about Mr. Wampler’s commitment to the taxpayers of South Carolina. I challenge all candidates for South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District to make the same commitment to taxpayers by signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge today,” continued Norquist.

Kris Wampler will run in South Carolina’s 5th Congressional District Primary on May 2nd
