Americans for Tax Reform congratulates Jake LaTurner for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. By signing the Pledge, LaTurner has made a written commitment to oppose all tax increases and allow Kansas’s taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money.

“I want to congratulate Jake LaTurner for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and in doing so, affirming his commitment to protect taxpayers throughout the state of Kansas,” said Grover Norquist, president of ATR.

ATR offers the Pledge to every candidate for state and federal office and to all incumbents. Nearly 1,400 elected officials, from state representatives to governors and US Senators, have signed the Pledge.

“The American people are tired of the tax-and-spend policies coming from Washington and they are looking for solutions that create jobs, cut government spending, and grow the economy. Signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and holding the line on taxes is the first step in that process,” continued Norquist.

LaTurner is running in the Republican primary for one of Kansas’s US Senate seats. He currently serves as the Kansas State Treasurer, being appointed to the position by Governor Brownback in April 2017. Prior to this role, LaTurner served in the Kansas State Senate from 2013 to 2017.

ATR will continue to follow this race closely and will provide additional updates as more candidates sign the Pledge.
