According to a new policy report by the Illinois Policy Institute, the health care bill before Congress will kill 3.9 million jobs over the next 10 years.  169,000 of those jobs will be lost in Illinois.  The average American citizen will pay $3,900 for the new policy, while most Americans will have no increase in benefits.  Of course, since many individuals pay no taxes, their share of the bill is even higher.  Finally, the cost curve will begin to bend—up, that is.  Medical inflation will increase by 5.6% more than it would have without the reform package.

There’s a lot more information where that came from—particularly if you are interested in Illinois’ well being.
