Every year, the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project aims to have every governor proclaim February 6 as Ronald Reagan Day in honor of President Reagan’s birthday.

President Reagan worked to restore the American spirit and instill a sense of pride in the nation during a time of great challenge. He worked tirelessly to promote these ideals both at home and abroad. His unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life endeared him to millions of Americans.

During his two terms from 1981 to 1989, President Reagan worked tirelessly to improve the life of all Americans. One of his most successful policies involved his tax cuts, which led to more job growth and reduced inflation. In addition to his economic policies, he is also credited with helping bring an end to the Cold War.

Grover Norquist, chairman of the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project, honored President Reagan with a piece commemorating his contributions to the modern Republican Party.

In honor of the president’s 112th birthday, the project has once again reached out to governors to proclaim Ronald Reagan Day and honor the president’s legacy.

By proclaiming Ronald Reagan Day, these governors have paid tribute to his contributions to our nation and the world.

“Ronald Reagan created the modern Republican party of limited government, low taxes and a strong national defense.  He used that party to change the nation.  And then he changed the world,” said Norquist.

In addition to the commemorative day, Ronald Reagan is honored throughout the world for his leadership. Domestically, there are 168 dedications to the former president, and 18 dedications internationally. One of the more recent dedications comes from the Ukrainian Economics Freedom Foundation who plan to erect a statue of Reagan on the former site of a monument to a Soviet leader.
