Gov. Matt Blunt to Appear on Grover Norquist’s Radio Show
Governor to discuss first of its kind, fully accountable spending transparency website
Washington, DC- Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform and host of the monthly “Leave Us Alone” radio show, will interview Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt about Missouri’s new spending transparency website, the Missouri Accountability Portal (MAP). The show airs on Wednesday, July 18 at 2 p.m. EST. Listeners can hear the show live and repeated throughout the day on www.rightalk.com/.
Because of Gov. Blunt’s Executive Order 07-24, MAP is a free database that allows taxpayers to search expenditures both by broad categories and by specific businesses and individuals. Governor Blunt is one of the first governors to make such comprehensive spending information available on a single, user-friendly website. The site can be found at http://mapyourtaxes.mo.gov/.
“Spending transparency is the next big thing in politics. By being one of the first governors to enable citizens to become fiscal watchdogs, Gov. Blunt clearly demonstrates his dedication to the taxpayers of Missouri. I commend him for taking this huge leap forward for fiscal responsibility,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
