In today’s Wall Street Journal Robert Poole of the Reason Foundation discusses the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Christmas wish list Main Street Economic Recovery” stimulus plan – the $73 billion worth of "vital" infrastructure spending projects that the mayors say are "ready to go" and should get funded through a federal stimulus package.
 
Just last week, Sen. Tom Coburn released his "2008: Worst Waste of the Year" report.  If the mayors get their wish when Congress returns to work on a "stimulus" package, much of their wishlist will likely find its way into the 2009 Worst Waste report.
