Florida Congressman Carlos Curbelo is pushing a massive carbon tax on his constituents. He may think it will appeal to left leaning voters, but carbon taxes are unpopular, even in left-leaning, blue areas of the country.

On November 8th, 2016 true-blue Washington State voters were presented with a carbon tax ballot measure known as Initiative 732. If it passed, it would have been the first carbon tax in the U.S.

But the measure failed big time. It was rejected by voters by an almost 60 - 40 margin.

Results:

NO:   59.25%  (1,839,414)
YES: 40.75%  (1,265,123)

Pwned!
