The 1000% gun tax introduced by House Democrats violates President Biden’s pledge to oppose any tax increase on any American making less than $400,000 per year.
Bill sponsor Don Beyer (D-Va.) asserts the tax is 50-vote “reconciliation ready.” He is trying to insert the tax into the eventual son-of-BBB reconciliation legislation. He has 36 original co-sponsors including Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.)
President Biden and Vice President Harris pledged to every American making less than $400,000 that they would not raise a single penny of any of their taxes. Biden and Harris made the pledge dozens of times.
