From Bernie Becker at The Hill, VAT Tax is “the worst of all worlds” says Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.).  “…Americans for Tax Reform — which has an anti-VAT caucus of roughly 70 members, most of them Republican — to say the VAT is a top priority for Democrats. ‘Listen, VAT is the endgame for the Democrats,’ said Grover Norquist, the group’s president, adding that Democrats would have to control the House, Senate and the presidency to pull that off.”

In an article written by Ross Ramney of The Texas Tribune, ATR stands against the Amazon Tax in Texas.  “The loudest anti-tax crusader in the country, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform, is already patrolling Texas for apostates. When State Representative Elliott Naishtat, Democrat of Austin, filed legislation that would make it harder for Amazon and other Internet and mail-order retailers to avoid collecting Texas sales taxes, Mr. Norquist pounced, writing a letter to warn legislators that the bill would impose a new tax and that anyone who had taken an anti-tax pledge should stay away from it.”

Sioux Falls, SD is ranked the best small city for business at The CBS Interactive Business Network.  “Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This state ranked ahead of all others on the Small Business Survival Index calculated by the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council, an advocacy organization based outside Washington, D.C. With iconic anti-tax campaigner Grover Norquist on its board, it’s no surprise that low taxes figure prominently in the index’s algorithm. But Forbes, which arguably takes a more nuanced view, also ranked Sioux Falls its best small city for business.”
