Grover Norquist spoke with Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed, and suggested that the “Washington Reagans” might be a nice new name for the Washington Redskins, who had six trademark registrations for their name canceled yesterday by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
“This is a great idea,” Norquist told BuzzFeed when asked about chatter about the new name on social media. “The former Redskins can be the Ronald Reagans on winning years and the Nancy Reagans on losing years. Unless that gets us in more trouble elsewhere.”
Alexander Bolton of the Hill wrote an article highlighting Americans for Tax Reform’s response to the Murphy-Corker gas tax increase.
Americans for Tax Reform told The Hill in an email that it does not endorse the outline of the Corker-Murphy plan.
“The highway trust fund does not have an under-taxing problem, it has an overspending problem,” said John Kartch, the group’s director of communications. “There is no good reason to raise the gas tax.”
