Conrad Admits His Goal is Higher Taxes
Senator calls Cheney “immature” for opposing tax hikes

Washington, DC- Sen. Conrad recently referred to remarks made by the Vice President on Social Security as ‘juvenile.’ Conrad said, “That one interview has done real damage to efforts to move forward.” Vice President Cheney was quoted on Fox News saying, "We don\’t believe a tax increase is necessary" in order to reform Social Security. Cheney continued, “The president has been very, very clear about his position on taxes.”

“Obviously, Conrad wants tax hikes,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. “Rather than acting like the weepy wuss on the playground, Sen. Conrad should disavow his tax-increasing past and call for significant and effective reform of the Social Security system.”
