We have written previously about the disasterous effects cap & tax will have on the US economy; destroying jobs, forcing businesses to shut their doors, and lowering the living standards for all.
There is, however, a further, and more disturbing, end goal of those pushing cap & tax, one that can only be described as a sharp attack on U.S.sovereignty. It is essential therefore to view cap & tax proposed legislation here in conjunction with the planned international agreement to be signed at Copenhagen later this year, based on this negotiation text. This treaty, which in all likelyhood President Obama will sign, mandates a few things. Firstly, that we make deep cuts to our industries. Secondly, that China and other developing countries will not have to make any cuts to their emissions. Thirdly – and most bafflingly – we will agree to hand over lots of money and technology to China and other developing countries to "compensate" for our sins.
Lord Christopher Monckton, the former science adviser to Margaret Thatcher, points out an even more disturbing thread underpinning the proposed treaty, however: the loss of soverignty by the United States and the transferal of power to unelected and unaccountable UN bureaucrats:
"I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfication of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t. We’ve been screwing up the climate and they haven’t. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government, is enforcement.
How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty?"
