Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist today made the following statement:
“It is unfortunate that House Democrats killed the free trade initiative which is supported by their own president. Republicans in Congress are to be commended for working on behalf of good policy with a president of the other party, and putting the nation’s interests first.
“The Democrats have a choice: they are for their Big Labor masters and against their own president, or they are not.
“We continue to hope and plan to pass a free trade package as soon as possible. We hope that the Democrats will consider the national interest when we do.”
