Which Energy Plan Does America Want? Higher Taxes & Higher Energy Prices vs. More American Energy at Lower Prices

The American Energy Act introduced today provides counter to tax increases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) endorsed “The American Energy Act” introduced by Rep. Pence (R-IN). This package includes:

–    A total “All-of-the-Above” approach to energy solutions
–    75 percent revenue sharing for states for 12-mile leases; 50 percent outside of that
–    Repeals additional offshore restrictions creating American jobs
–    Includes several environmental protections
–    Extends the tax credit for alternative fuels vehicles through 2020
–    Extends tax credit for alternative and hydrogen refueling properties through 2020
–    Extends several home, appliance and property tax credits
–    Establishes an American Renewable and Alternative Energy Trust Fund
–    Cuts the time needed to permit new nuclear plants by 50 percent
–    Attempts to bring online 100 new nuclear reactors by 2030 creating thousands of jobs
–    Legal reform to challenges on energy exploration efforts and safeguards against legal abuse

“When the American public are presented with two national energy strategies – one from the Left that wants to limit production, cost American jobs and increase taxes, and this plan [The American Energy Act] that will increase energy production, create thousands of American jobs, limit foreign dependence and actually cut taxes – I think their choice will be very easy,” said Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform.
