ATR Commends Bush Veto of Labor-HHS Spending Bill

Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform, today commented on President Bush’s veto of the Labor-HHS spending bill:

“This was a huge victory for taxpayers.  The President could not have stated it more plainly: 2200 earmarks totaling $1 billion, and a bloated bill $10 billion too big is an abomination.  It simply spends too much taxpayer money.  Letting Congressional Democrats get away with higher spending will lead to higher taxes down the road as certainly as getting too drunk leads to a hangover.  Bravo, President Bush.  Taxpayers are with you.”
