Americans for Tax Reform and the Alliance for Worker Freedom commend lawmakers who stood in support of the Workforce and Democracy and Fairness Act, yet another pro-growth, jobs bill that is likely to die in the Senate.

The Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act is a protective measurement against hard working American’s who wish nothing more than to retain control of their pay, careers, and livelihood.  It would be entirely inappropriate for the NLRB to try – in such a short period – upend their jobs and relationship with their employer.

This isn’t the first, nor is it the last, time the National Labor Relation’s Board will attempt to forge an unfair election process onto workers.  It should be no surprise to anyone familiar with past attempts made by the Board to strengthen its union membership through questionable practice.

Again, ATR commends all who have so vigorously supported of the Workforce Democracy Act.  We need to act now in order to prevent further abuse by this board, which has conclusively heeded the call of workplace instability.

While 6 Democrats joined nearly every Republican in voting for passage of the HR 3904, 8 Republicans opposed the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act.

The final tally went:

235-188 (11NV)

Republicans: 229-8 (5NV)

Democrats: 6-180 (6NV)

Republicans voting Nay:

Rep. Michael Grimm (NY)

Rep. Pete King (NY)

Rep. Steve LaTourette (OH)

Rep. Frank LoBiondo (NJ)

Rep. Jon Runyan (NJ)
