AL-01 Candidate Jerry Carl Signs Taxpayer Protection Pledge

Americans for Tax Reform congratulates Jerry Carl for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. By signing the Pledge, Carl has made a written commitment to oppose all tax increases and allow Alabama’s taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money.

“I want to congratulate Jerry Carl for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and in doing so, affirming his commitment to protect taxpayers in Alabama’s 1st congressional district,” said Grover Norquist, president of ATR.

ATR offers the Pledge to every candidate for state and federal office and to all incumbents. Nearly 1,400 elected officials, from state representatives to governors and US Senators, have signed the Pledge.

“The American people are tired of the tax-and-spend policies coming from Washington and they are looking for solutions that create jobs, cut government spending, and grow the economy. Signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and holding the line on taxes is the first step in that process,” continued Norquist.

Carl is running in the Republican primary for Alabama’s 1st congressional district seat. He is currently serving as the county commissioner for Mobile County. Prior to serving as commissioner, Carl spent his young professional life as a successful entrepreneur.

ATR will continue to follow this race closely and will provide additional updates as more candidates sign the Pledge.
