AL-01 Candidate Bill Hightower Signs Taxpayer Protection Pledge

Americans for Tax Reform congratulates Bill Hightower for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. By signing the Pledge, Hightower has made a written commitment to oppose all tax increases and allow Alabama’s taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money.

“I want to congratulate Bill Hightower for signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and in doing so, affirming his commitment to protect taxpayers in Alabama’s 1st congressional district,” said Grover Norquist, president of ATR.

ATR offers the Pledge to every candidate for state and federal office and to all incumbents. Nearly 1,400 elected officials, from state representatives to governors and US Senators, have signed the Pledge.

“The American people are tired of the tax-and-spend policies coming from Washington and they are looking for solutions that create jobs, cut government spending, and grow the economy. Signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge and holding the line on taxes is the first step in that process,” continued Norquist.

Hightower is running in the Republican primary for Alabama’s 1st congressional district seat. Prior to entering the race, he was an Alabama State Senator for five years, serving from 2013-2018. He continues to be a small business owner in the Mobile area.

ATR will continue to follow this race closely and will provide additional updates as more candidates sign the Pledge.
