A source from U.S. House leadership tells ATR that there may not be enough votes to pass Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade:

...Pelosi, Hoyer and Clyburn were just heard to say that they don’t have the votes to pass the Waxman Markey national energy tax.  It appears they’ve ordered groups like the AFL-CIO to start making calls to put pressure on members to support the bill.

Keep the pressure on! Call the House switchboard at 202-224-3121 and tell your member to vote NO!

The sole purpose of Waxman-Malarkey is to line the pockets of General Electric and other members of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, aka Climate Action Profiteers. GE's problem is that it can't engineer its wind turbines' cost low enough to get them to sell themselves, so it has to get the government to force businesses to buy them. Most wind turbines are made offshore, by the way, so Waxman-Markey's proponents are lying when they say the legislation will create "green" jobs.
