The text of the Boxer-Kerry Senate climate/energy tax bill has been released...well, sort of.
It is about 700 pages of DRAFT text. The House passed cap-and-trade bill was about 1300; there are a lot of holes in this bill and it has to go through five committees, so expect it to get much, much longer.
Senate Republican Leader McConnell said:
“While many details are missing, this latest draft of the Democrats’ new national energy tax appears to be even more expensive for consumers and for our economy than the bill that passed the House. The last thing American families need right now is to be hit with a new energy tax every time they flip on a lightswitch, or fill up their car—but that’s exactly what this bill would do.”
