New Jersey

This area is under construction. Watch for information on New Jersey's gubernatorial race in the near future.

Tax raising Gov. James E. McGreevey (D) has unleashed an assault on Garden State taxpayers since being elected governor in 2001. In his first full budget, McGreevey imposed more than $1.9 billion of new taxes on working New Jersey families and then followed again with another $600 million for the upcoming fiscal year. All told, taxes paid by working families in fiscal year 2004 will $2.5 billion more than before McGreevey was elected and a cumulative total of $4.4 billion.

This should come as no suprise to New Jersey taxpayers. As state Senator, McGreevey cast the deciding vote for Governor Florio to impose $2.8 billion of tax increases on working New Jersey families. And as Mayor of Woodbridge, McGreevey consistently raised property taxes in non-election years to fund special interests he needed to help elect him Governor.
