Senator Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) is the only Senator to have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge as a Democrat. The Pledge that he took to the people of Nebraska obliges him to oppose income tax increases. Yet, the government healthcare bill before the United States Senate contains billions of dollars in income tax hikes. Sen. Nelson cannot support this legislation and remain faithful to his sacred promise to the people of Nebraska. Sign the Petition below to send Sen.Ben Nelson a personal message urging him to keep his Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

Senator Nelson will receive the following message from you and other petition signers:

Dear Senator Nelson:

You have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, which obliges you to oppose any and all efforts to raise income taxes. The U.S. Senate is currently considering government healthcare legislation which contains billions of dollars in income tax hikes.

I urge you to fulfill your Pledge. Vote "no" on any procedural votes and/or final passage on this anti-taxpayer legislation. Failure to do so would be a breach of trust with the people of Nebraska who elected you with the understanding you would not raise their taxes. I urge you to oppose any cloture motions or final passage votes on a government healthcare plan that includes tax hikes.

Sincerely,
[Your Name Will Be Listed Here with the Other Petition Signers]

Thank you for signing the Sen, Ben Nelson Healthcare Petition. Please consider taking additional action by contacting your Senator.
