Rep. Massa (D-NY): "I will vote against the interests of my district"
From Tim Andrews on Monday, August 17, 2009 2:59 PMIn a stunning admission made at the radical extremist NetRoots Nation conference, Representative Eric Massa (D-NY) was caught on film telling participants that he would vote against the interests of his district. In his exact words. This is not me paraphrasing. Eric Massa, in his exact words, said - and I quote - "I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district"
As if the arrogance and hubris of this statement was not enough, he repeated the sentiment by saying "I will vote against their opinion if I actually believe it will help them."
The Washington Times posted the following stunning video:
There can be no doubt that Rep. Massa thinks he knows better than his voters and does not care - one bit - about what his constituents think. He thinks that as a member of the Washington elite, he is better than the Americans who put him into office.
He might not care, but you can still tell him what YOU think by calling his office on (202) 225-3161

This is unbelievable. Does he understand what is meant by representative government? Obviously not.

He will, however, soon understand what is meant by "being voted out of office".

Welcome to Communism. The Communists in the Soviet Union knew better than the population. Are you old enough to remember the suffering? Unfortunately Eric Massa is no better. Return the U.S. Government to the people. Vote this bum out of office. Speak loudly with your vote.

I listened to this typical left wing democrat as he ran in the election he would not even acknowledge in his commercials he was a democrat. His efforts at rying to sound conservative should sicken anyone that voted his. He is a very arrogant socialist, that will vote the way he is told by His friend Schumer and Obama

What a liar. "Friends, As your member of Congress, my #1 priority is serving you. This is your Congressional Office and your Congressional staff and your opinion on the critical issues facing Western New York matters." from the web site of this individual. Please go see for yourself. at http://massa.house.gov/index.html

This is what our representatives are supposed to do. If they listened to the mob all the time, nothing would get done. When I vote for someone to represent me in congress, I am not voting for them because they agree with me. No one will agree with me all the time. I am voting for them because I trust that they will be making honest decisions that are in my best interest. I am paying him to do the research and consider the issues that I don't have time for myself. I would rather have my representative vote their conscience than always try to make concessions just to make sure they get elected next November. It was Grover Cleveland who said it best: "What is the use of being elected or re-elected unless you stand for something?"
