Yesterday, Taxpayer Protection Pledge signer Tim Burns debated former Murtha staffer Mark Critz in the lead up to the PA-12 special election on May 18. During the debate, both candidates were asked, "Will you promise on camera never to raise my taxes?" You can watch the video below, but the candidates' responses were quite clear. Burns pledged to never raise taxes while Critz left the door open to a number of tax hikes.
Grover Norquist had this to say about the candidates' responses:
Yesterday’s debate made the choice for taxpayers abundantly clear: if you want higher taxes and a continued recession vote for Mark Critz, but if you want pro-growth economic policies and lower taxes vote for Tim Burns,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. “On the issue of taxes, the contrast between the two candidates could not be any greater.
