Andy McKenna of Illinois has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge in the race for Governor. With this, he has made the commitment to "oppose and veto any and all efforts to increase taxes." To see ATR's official press release regarding McKenna's signing of the Pledge, click here.
Grover Norquist said of McKenna's signing of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge: "By signing the Pledge, Andy McKenna demonstrates his commitment to hardworking Illinois taxpayers. I applaud him for his leadership and dedication to the ideals of limited government and pro-growth policies." He added, " I strongly encourage, and challenge, every candidate for state and federal office to sign the Pledge."
So far in the race for Illinois Governor in 2010, other candidates who have made the same commitment to the taxpayers of Illinois and signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge are: Adam Andrzejewski, Bill Brady, Dan Proft, and Bob Schillerstrom. Americans for Tax Reform encourages all candidates to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. More information on the Taxpayer Protection Pledge can be found here.
