In Georgia, there’s no lack of pledge signers looking to replace Deal

In the contest to fill the seat being vacated by Republican Gubernatorial candidate Nathan Deal, Georgia’s 9th Congressional District has just landed a pair of pledge signers who are among the first to have put their names on the Taxpayer Protection Pledge in this 2010 race. The two newest signers in the GA-9 race are former State Representative Mike Evans and former State Senator Bill Stephens.

Cook Political Report ranks GA-9 as R+28 on the Partisan Voter Index (PVI). Barring any unforeseen events, the winner of the Republican primary appears to be the likely winner in the general election.

As pledge signers, Mr. Stephens and Mr. Evans have made a commitment to the taxpayers in Georgia that they will fight to ensure that their taxes are not increased. Outgoing Congressman Deal is a current pledge-signer and we here at ATR encourage all candidates competing in GA-9, as well as all candidates for Federal office to follow suit and pledge to the taxpayers that they will do their part in fighting on behalf of the interests of those who elect them.

I would like to set-up a march or protest in Sumter county to voice our complaint about yearly tax increases without any representation. Please contact me at jarhead7@bellsouth.net.
