Fodder for the Next Worst Waste of the Year Report?

In today's Wall Street Journal Robert Poole of the Reason Foundation discusses the U.S. Conference of Mayors' Christmas wish list Main Street Economic Recovery” stimulus plan - the $73 billion worth of "vital" infrastructure spending projects that the mayors say are "ready to go" and should get funded through a federal stimulus package.
 
Just last week, Sen. Tom Coburn released his "2008: Worst Waste of the Year" report.  If the mayors get their wish when Congress returns to work on a "stimulus" package, much of their wishlist will likely find its way into the 2009 Worst Waste report.
