The Senate AMT Hypocrisy Caucus
HR 2264: Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 – 08/06/1993
The last time Democrats controlled the House, Senate, and Presidency, they chose to raise the AMT from 24 percent to a top rate of 28 percent. They also failed to index for inflation, a major reason the AMT traps so many taxpayers today.
The following 30 members of the Senate voted to raise the AMT from 24 percent to a top rate of 28 percent:
