Social Security Fact of the Day
Social Security cannot afford to pay all of the benefits it has promised. Beginning in 2017, it will run cash deficits that get bigger every year.

Support for personal accounts is not limited to conservatives and other supporters of President Bush. According to a recent poll, majorities of independents and union members, and a plurality of moderates, support giving younger workers the option to build a nest egg for their future through personal accounts. Support for PRAs is broad, deep, and growing. Policymakers in Congress need to follow the will of the American people and fix Social Security now.

Social Security has a problem, and we need to fix it. Personal accounts are the solution.
