Taxpayer
Coalition Will Hold Press Conference Supporting President's Plan to
Reform Social Security
WASHINGTON -
Americans for Tax Reform will hold a press conference on December 11th
in support of President Bush's plan to reform the Social Security system.
The President's Commission to Strengthen Social Security will meet in
the same building earlier in the day.
WHAT:
Press conference supporting Social Security Reform.
WHEN: 2:15PM-3PM on Tuesday, December 11th
WHERE: Park Hyatt, Hyde Park IV Room
24th and M Street, NW Washington, D.C.
A broad coalition
of pro-taxpayer and free-market policy groups will come together at
the event. Taxpayer advocate Grover Norquist, who heads Americans
for Tax Reform, will emcee the conference.
Other speakers
include George Mason University law professor and author Peter Ferrara,
Jack Strayer of the National Center for
Policy Analysis, Derrick Max of the Alliance
for Worker Retirement Security, Charles Jarvis of the United
Seniors Association, Juan Henao of the Young Hispanic Republican
Assembly, Jim Martin of the 60 Plus
Association, Kellyanne Fitzpatrick of the
polling company, Marty Reiser of Citizens
for a Sound Economy, and representatives from the Independent
Women's Forum, Small Business Survival
Committee, and the Council for
Government Reform.
Additionally,
ATR will provide a clearinghouse of information on the advantages of
personal accounts for Social Security; press conference participants
will be available for interviews.
