ATR Releases Tax Ratings, Gives Out Taxpayer Hero Awards

WASHINGTON - Today Americans for Tax Reform released their annual Tax Ratings for the first session of the 106^th Congress. "Hero of the Taxpayer" awards are given to members who score 85% or better, while members who score 25% or below are named "Enemies of the Taxpayer."

The Ratings are based on key votes over the last year that highlight a given member's attitude towards taxpayer interests.

In the Senate, 44 Senators were named "Heroes of the Taxpayer" while 44 were named "Enemies of the Taxpayer."

In the House of Representatives there were 102 "Heroes" and 181 "Enemies."
