Americans
for Tax Reform Announces "Enemies of the Taxpayer" Honor for First
Session of 106th Congress
181
Reps, 44 Senators earn dubious honor
WASHINGTON-
Americans for Tax Reform has released its annual "Enemies of the
Taxpayer" honors for those members of Congress who consistently
rejected the interests of the taxpayers during the first session
of the 106th Congress.
Senators
and Representatives earn an "Enemy of the Taxpayer" award for failing
to score above a 25 in ATR's Congressional ratings.
Not scoring higher than a 25 in ATR's ratings indicates consistent
opposition to proposals that would ease the onerous burden and cost
of government. Those
who were awarded an "Enemy" award refused to help lighten the ever-increasing
massive load that is government, a load borne by Americans of every
occupation and income level.
ATR
named a total of 225 "Enemies of the Taxpayer." Of those 44 were
Senators while 181 Congressmen.
Some of these enemies include:
|
Sen. Jeff Bingaman (NM)
Rep. Lois Capps (CA22)
Rep. Mark Udall (CO02)
Rep. Lane Evans (IL17)
Rep. Baron Hill (IN09)
Rep. Dennis Moore (KS03)
Rep. Bill Luther (MN06) |
Sen. Charles Robb (VA)
Rep. Shelley Berkeley (NV01)
Rep. Rush Holt (NJ12)
Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (NY04)
Rep. Jay Inslee (WA01)
Rep. David Wu (OR01)
Rep. Joe Hoeffel (PA13) |
