Warren Davidson (R-OH) won the primary in Ohio’s 8th Congressional District in the primary to fill the seat vacated by former House Speaker John Boehner. Mr. Davidson made a written commitment to Ohio taxpayers to oppose higher taxes. He will be the Republican nominee in the June 7th special election and in the November general election.

Mr. Warren Davidson is an Army Veteran, having graduated from West Point in the top ten percent of his class. He served with distinction in the 101st Airborne Division and as an Army Ranger. In 2000, he returned to Ohio to help his father run the family manufacturing business, growing it from 20 employees to 200 employees. Mr. Davidson resides in Troy, Ohio with his wife and children.

Candidates running for office like to say they will not raise taxes, but often turn their backs on the taxpayer once elected. The Taxpayer Protection Pledge requires these candidates to put their rhetoric in writing. It is offered to every candidate for state and federal office and to all incumbents. Nearly 1,400 elected officials have signed the Pledge.

“I want to congratulate Warren Davidson on securing the Republican nomination for Congress in Ohio’s 8th District,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform. “Republican primary voters clearly took their displeasure with Washington’s tax and spend agenda to the ballot box and rewarded the candidates who took the Pledge to stand with them.”
